Star Fest 2012

CMR Star Fest 2012, an exciting all-day musical extravaganza jam-packed with entertainment for every community, was held on August 25 at the Markham Fair. The event was a huge success as it brought in tens of thousands of visitors! Guests gave rave reviews about the experience of attending this festival, and the remarkable musical performances by local and international talent!

Canadian Multicultural Radio set out with the plan of hosting a free event to provide multicultural communities with the ability to experience diverse music at absolutely no cost to them. Programming commenced at noon and carried on until 11pm. Various established international artists graced the stage with their presence and the finest local talent had the opportunity of sharing the same stage.

CMR Star Search has evolved over the years and has become a very successful and recognized initiative. 2012 was the 8th year such a talent search was held with the goal of seeking out, exposing and rewarding the best of multicultural music talent from all of the communities CMR serves. CMR’s grand Star Search 2012 finale was the most important part of CMR Star Fest 2012. Finalists had the amazing opportunity of performing in front of tens of thousands of attendees and the ‘Top 6’ winners won the chance to be a part of an exclusive Star Search Album!

Furthermore, CMR proudly championed the cause of Autism in support of the South Asian Autism Awareness Centre (SAAAC) at this event. CMR is glad to have a difference in the growth of SAAAC through this event.
